The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies towards the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering companies including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency explained it's alarmed concerning the significant quantity of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a superior quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The services level designed for intervention activities a significant inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it hard to the office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more sassa status sources to allow the servicing of all clients and increase usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
